I doubt they will publish it, but I wrote the following letter to Private Eye today.

Dear Sir,

So it’s justice, is it, for trans people to be excluded from public toilets, from sports teams and from rape crisis centres.

It’s justice, is it, for trans people to have draconian limitations placed on their access to healthcare.

It’s justice, is it, for hate crimes against trans people to have rocketed over the last decade, while mainstream newspapers including the Guardian, Telegraph, Times and Mail publish hundreds of articles vilifying trans people every month.

It’s justice, is it, for an open, sustained and organised hate campaign against a minority group making up less than 0.1% of the population to have had such resounding success across the board that one campaign leader posted a celebratory champagne-sipping selfie following the recent Supreme Court ruling.

And it’s justice, is it, for Private Eye, an organ ostensibly long-devoted to the cause of justice, to lend its full-throated support to that hate campaign with that piece by ‘Lady Justice’.

I see,

Yours,

A. Banana
